THE LOCATION

The Elephant Park of Mozambique otherwise known as the Maputo National Park, is a unique experience in various ways. The park has no paved roads so visitors need a serious off-road vehicle to traverse the terrain. On the eastern boundary you will find an incredible Eco Lodge called Ponta Membene.

The 1700 km2 park is in the process of building up its animal numbers and at present you will find Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo, Zebra as well as many more antelope species.

On the southern edge of the conservation area is the little tourist town of Ponta do Ouro. This little tourist town has an vibrant ‘night life’ and plays home to multiple scuba diving companies catering for international visitors.

THE GUIDED TOUR

Our company hopes to give pilots the ultimate experience in fly camping with special permission to conduct 4 guided tours per year over the National Park.

As part of the tour, pilots will have 3 camping overnights in the bush whereby there will be no fences between the wild animals of the park and the camping pilots. Due to the risk nature of this experience, all the tours will be guided by an experienced adventure pilot.

Each pilot will be equipped with a specially designed 7 kg fly camp kit that includes the tent, sleeping bag, food, water and accessories to survive for 3 days.

• Arrival at Maputo International Airport and travel to Ponta Do Ouro
• Accommodation at Ponta Beach and Camp
• Activity: Paramotor equipment introduction and testing
• Flight Location: Beach
• Evening: Seafood Dinner and Party

• Take Off Ponta do Ouro.
• Destination: Ponta Membene, 40km north of Ponta do Ouro. In-land flight route over lakes.
• Overnight: Ponta Membene Eco Beach Resort.

• Take Off Ponta Membene.
  
• Destination: Northern flight route up to 100km in distance towards ‘Northern Outpost’ and Camp Site.
• Overnight: Paramotor Camping

• Take off Northern Outpost.
• Destination: South Western Camp Site. Pilots cross savannah country with a ‘high tea’ stop on route.
• Overnight: Paramotor Camping.

• Take off Southern Outpost.
• Destination: Lake Piti. Cross the park in easterly direction.
• Overnight: Lake Piti with no prepared campsite.

• Flight to Sky Island South of the Park.
• Destination: Sky Island is the prime paragliding location located at Ponta Malongane. Pilots are able to have a lunch at the restaurant before taking off again for Ponta do Ouro
• Overnight at Ponta do Ouro Beach and Camp

• Return to Maputo for International Flight Departure.
